It all pretty much started with the design tool and and uh I started with my own design and did quite a bit of my own design and then I played around quite a bit myself before I you know started working with the designer. Having the designer saying this fits here, that

doesn’t fit here, let’s change this, let’s move that. Having the designer was very, very helpful in [music] getting it done. So yeah, I spent a lot of time going over the cosmetics before I pulled the trigger on it. Some of the nice things about RTA is their design tool

and uh the design process. I started online and was kind of doing multiple iterations, trying different things, different layouts of how I wanted things to go, but to to fit in the appliances [music] and the number of appliances I

had, I kind of needed to do a little extra length. [music] So, I went L rather than a straight line to get a little bit of extra countertop and and appliance space. The grill was pretty much the starting point of designing the kitchen. I wanted a a full size larger

grill to be able to do quite a bit of, you know, food at one time. And uh the griddle top was kind of the second thing my wife wanted in particular to have that flat top [music] cooking grill in addition to the barbecue. And I kind of

had some pretty decent ideas of how it would go together. But this is a great example of working with the designer. In my case, it was [music] Tanner. And I had wanted to put a griddle in the corner unit [music] and on the design

tool online it said this wouldn’t fit here. So I couldn’t make this layout. And I was even looking at doing something different in the corner and putting the griddle over here. But in working with Tanner, he was able to tell

me, “No, we actually can do it. The design tool won’t allow you, [music] but we can make a couple of little tweaks and we can make that griddle fit into the corner.” And so we were able to get our design pretty much exactly the way we wanted by working with the designer.

This was the only thing that was a little bit of a challenge in the design tool. The rest of it was all pretty straightforward. Um, again, working with the designer, there’s little nuances about how big of a countertop you can go with and how big a pieces they can ship.

Um, there’s a lot of attention to detail in the design process about how things can actually go together. And especially when you’re doing it [music] as a do-it-yourself, those are the kinds of details that could really trip you up if

things weren’t designed to go together smoothly and easily. The installation worked out real nice. It didn’t take all that long. The [music] only tough part about the installation is the size and weight

because of the quality of all of this stuff. It’s pretty heavy. [music] Um, so you know, it takes a little time to put it together, but the actual installation process is pretty simple and their detailing and and [music]

blueprints and schematics and installation instruction make it all pretty bulletproof as far as if you’re at all a do-it-yourselfer and do really almost any kind of projects around the house, you can handle putting together an RTA kitchen. [music] It’s pretty
