Dana Pollack Reflects on Her RTA Outdoor Kitchen Makeover

Baker Dana Pollack was our second candidate for the great outdoor kitchen makeover… and her outdoor kitchen remodel was truly something else! So now that the project is fully complete and Dana has had some time to bask in the glory of her new island… it’s time to reflect on her remodel and the ever important question – was it all worth it? Well, we will give you some spoilers here. The answer is unequivocally, yes! As Dana will tell you right from the jump, “If you have the opportunity to do it, I would highly recommend you get an outdoor kitchen makeover.”

That may be all you need to hear… but truly, there is much more to explore with this outdoor kitchen remodel! Dana has quite a few poignant thoughts for anyone who is considering a makeover of their existing outdoor kitchen. One of the biggest advantages for Dana was how the RTA team handled all of her concerns. Her original outdoor kitchen was just a small, linear grill island… and she wanted to really go big for this makeover. Originally, Dana was looking at an L-shaped design. But upon closer inspection, it seemed that this layout would be too big for the space. But she does have plenty of yard space right off the back patio! So instead of grouping all the islands together… Dana ended up with 3 islands in different locations. Not only did this beautifully fill out the space, it also ensured she got all the appliances she wanted with plenty of room! But that’s just the start.
