The Inspiration for Gronk’s Outdoor Kitchen
You may be wondering what inspired this backyard transformation. Well, football legend Rob Gronkowski spends many weekends hosting family gatherings in the summertime… and an outdoor kitchen is the perfect feature for entertaining!
Rob and Camille Kostek have 9 nieces and nephews between them, so when you add their parents into the mix, that’s a lot of mouths to feed! They wanted an outdoor kitchen to take the stress out of hosting. Now they can have a grill, a place to keep drinks cool, a dedicated trash bin, and even a s’mores station for the little ones.
In addition to that, Camille had just finished overhauling the interior of their home. Now, their attention is to enhancing the backyard, and an outdoor kitchen was the ideal starting project.

Gronk’s Outdoor Kitchen Design
As mentioned previously, the sleek design of Gronk’s outdoor kitchen is one to remember! Camille and Rob’s existing home has a lot of shiplap elements… so getting a bright plank finish on the outdoor kitchen was a natural choice. Paired with thunder white granite countertops, the light and airy feel is the perfect fit for their New England space.
As for appliances and features, you’ll find a pizza oven station, flat top griddle, built-in refrigerator, pull out ice chest, trash and recycle bin, and 42-inch coyote grill. There’s plenty of cooking power available, even for the Gronkowski family!
What Makes Rob Gronkowski’s Outdoor Kitchen Summer-Ready and Spike-Proof?
Gronk’s outdoor kitchen was ready in time to enjoy during peak BBQ season, so that’s what makes it summer-ready… but what about spike-proof?
In the process of getting his RTA outdoor kitchen, Gronk simply had to put our concrete panels to the ultimate test: the spike test. Gronk threw his famous spike onto 3 different materials commonly used in outdoor kitchen projects, including our concrete panels. RTA’s panels were the only material to pass Gronk’s rigorous spike test, rendering it spike-proof!
