Looking for a More Specific Price Range?
What Factors Affect the Cost of an RTA U-Shape Island?
Beyond average price ranges… there are also other factors that broadly impact cost.
1. The Length Of Your Island
Of course, the longer the island… the more it will cost! RTA islands can be made in lengths ranging from 3’ to 20’. For countertops and panels (without factoring in the cost of appliances), the price will range between $4,495.00 for a 3’ island to $17,995.00 for a 20’ island.
If your U-shape design contains three islands of the same length… you can simply triple the price for a single island to get your cost. But if the three islands differ in length, each one will be priced differently.
2. The Finishes & Countertops You Select
Depending on the type of finish and countertops you choose, your U-shape island may incur additional fees. (Every finish and countertop option not listed below are standard and don’t cost extra.)
- Granite or Clean Edge Countertops: An additional $150 per linear foot
- Slat or Plank Charcoal Finish: An additional $100 per linear foot
For example, with a 7’x7’x7’ U-shape, you can expect to pay around $3,000 for either of these upgrades. (It’ll be around $6,000 if you opt for both upgrades.)
3. The Appliances You Want In Your Outdoor Kitchen
By default, RTA outdoor kitchens will come with Coyote appliances. And of course, the more appliances you include in your design, the more they will cost!
While not an exhaustive list, these are some broad price ranges you can expect:
- Built-in Grills: $1,449.00–$4,499.00
- Burners: $679.00–$1,799.00
- Refrigeration: $1,499.00–$1,799.00
- Sinks: $549.00–$1,679.00
- Flat Top Griddles: $2,199.00–$3,928.00
- Pellet Grills: $3,249.00–$3,799.00
- Pizza Ovens: $2,599.00–$6,799.00
If you choose to incorporate appliances from a brand other than Coyote… this will affect the cost as well. There may be small design fees if the appliance is not a standard size, and the appliances you choose may be more expensive than Coyote.
4. Adding a Corner Island
Many homeowners like to add a corner island (or two) to their U-shaped outdoor kitchen island. The RTA corner island gains you additional counterspace and is a great platform for an outdoor pizza oven.
But a corner island doesn’t come free! This 5’x5’ unit will run you an additional $6,495.00 for the panels and countertops. And if you want to make the two sides of your U-shaped outdoor kitchen symmetrical with 2 corner units… that will cost you $12,990.00
