Fabulous Modern Outdoor Kitchen Idea in Colorado!

If you are looking for modern outdoor kitchen ideas… stop right here, because you are going to absolutely love this video! A true modern design can be tough to pull off with an outdoor kitchen, and this unique layout is one to look out for. But first, let’s get a little background on this outdoor kitchen and the homeowners. In this video, you’ll meet John and Carol Calacino of Palisade, Colorado. They live on a beautiful vineyard in the midst of the Rocky Mountains… and recently, they set their sights on getting a modern outdoor kitchen. Growing up, Carol’s family spent nearly all their time outside on the patio, and she always had a vision for adding an outdoor kitchen to her current home. And we have to say, the results are absolutely fabulous.

The Calacino family decided to spring for a brand-new finish from RTA Outdoor Living: our walnut slat finish. This finish is characterized by textured, vertical lines which creates great visual interest, without getting too busy. This finish holds your attention, while retaining the simplicity that’s a hallmark of modern design. The walnut brown finish also beautifully matches the mountainside landscape, of course! If you look closely at this modern outdoor kitchen idea… there are a couple other small details that contribute to its striking look. For one, you’ll notice that the corners are finished in a contrasting stainless steel. Not only does this match the Calacino’s premium stainless steel appliances, it also adds a further elevated look to the final product. And additionally, the contrasting gray clean edged countertop adds a welcome touch of brightness. For full details on this modern outdoor kitchen idea, make sure to watch the whole video!

working with RTA. What I loved about it, and I think both of us loved about it, is the relationship we built with the designer, um, RTA people, and they knew what we wanted. They listened, and we felt that they were in our backyard

0:15
designing this with us. [Music] Hi, I’m John Calino.

0:30
>> I’m Carol Calisino. And we’re from Palisade, Colorado. And we’re on our vineyard this morning enjoying our new outdoor kitchen from RTA. So, growing up, our family lived on the patio and we spent most of our summers and and winters out on the patio. And I

0:45
had a vision for that uh at this house and on the vineyard. And last night sitting around the fire pit having people sitting at this bar and cooking. Um my son said, “You’ve you’ve now

1:00
created what you had growing up.” >> So what we have here is we went with an L-shaped uh design 10×7 uh came uh with these wonderful appliances all from Coyote. >> Uh we were never alone through this

1:15
process. our designer, uh, the company sent us information about a month in advance about what install would look like, what to expect the day of, uh, delivery, and then how to install. Even if I were doing it by myself, uh, it

1:30
would have taken a little bit longer, but I think I could have made sense of this. So, we were prepared for this based on how RTA, the designer, and the team um, shared information ahead of time so that we were ready. So, the material is is very heavy duty and even

1:45
though it’s pretty intense um as far as the structure goes, it took three of us 4 hours to put this together. And what was even more fun than that was that we

2:00
were grilling on it the next day. So, when we designed this, uh the layout was important to me because of hosting. We have a sitting space over here with a fire pit and I wanted the bar to face that so people could sit at the bar,

2:15
watch us cook and also be in uh included with the people sitting in the fire pit. Um we are looking right at our vineyard at the mountains and being able to see the um the landscape while we’re cooking

2:30
is really fun. We contemplated doing a straight versus Lshape, but we really love the Lshape with the bar and being able to have people sit and join us while we’re cooking. >> So, we have here I got this power burner. Uh it’s got two separate um

2:45
burners. You can uh low and high. Got a the grease trap here, which really easy. Just comes right out. Easy to clean. Uh got a nice little drawer here to put all the different, you know, whatever you want to use that for. It’s just great to

3:00
have that right there. Over here, we got a 3-FFT uh grill, four separate burners here. Got an access door under here. And the thing I’m really excited about is having the the grease trap right here. Easy to pull out, clean. You don’t have to get up underneath there. And uh here

3:15
I’ve got a pull out trash dropin cooler. This is probably one of my favorite things right here. This is really cool. So, uh yeah, really awesome. And then we have nice access doors underneath here if we need to get underneath there and do whatever. Um, it’s just I don’t know

3:30
just so thoughtfully designed and uh I I couldn’t be happier. >> So what we loved about RTA’s process was the design and working with the designer. It helped us visualize what this would look like with the space and

3:45
it was easy to use and at the end we’ve ended up with something that looked exactly like what the rendering was and it was very helpful and a great part of the process. >> Whatever friends and family come over

4:00
and visit us and they see this this uh the finished product here, they’re going to they’re they’re I think definitely going to want one.
