Just one look will tell you there are some fundamental differences… But what are they, exactly? Generally speaking, you can install a MOKS island in half the time. Now, that doesn’t mean our concrete outdoor kitchens are slow to assemble! They still come together in a single afternoon. MOKS simply offers a more rapid installation process. Another key difference is weight.
It’s no surprise to you that a concrete outdoor kitchen is heavy. It’s concrete, after all! So MOKS does have a leg up in this category. They’re made from a different material, and have thinner panels. This makes MOKS much easier to maneuver in your backyard. Another difference? MOKS is actually less customizable than our standard concrete islands. There are a set number of configurations you can choose from… So there is less flexibility when it comes to design.

A fourth difference between MOKS and our concrete outdoor kitchens is the materials, of course! Rather than being made from concrete… MOKS islands are made from a marine grade composite. This is an HDPE material which is heavy-duty in all environments, like concrete.
