This may be more difficult than you’d immediately think. Most outdoor kitchen layouts will require multiple utility lines. Maybe you want a natural gas line for your grill… Or electric for your fridge… Or water for your outdoor sink.

If all three are in your design… That’s a lot of utilities to set up! If you have the budget for it, that’s not a problem. But you’re trying to save money! Eliminating outdoor kitchen utilities can save you hundreds to thousands of dollars on your project. So making adjustments will be well-worth your time.

Let’s get into what those are, exactly. Avoiding gas lines is the easiest place to start. For your grill… Simply use a propane tank! Yes, you will have to refill and swap out tanks. But it’s a small price to pay to keep your project within your budget!

But what about electric?

Well… You will have to make some concessions. Most often, you’ll want electricity to power an outdoor refrigerator. Instead, consider a drop-in cooler! You’ll have plenty of refreshing beverages at the ready… Without power! When it comes to other appliances that use electricity… You’ll simply have to do without.

That doesn’t have to be a bad thing!
