This summer, Ward Schraeder partnered with RTA for his own outdoor kitchen. Not familiar with Ward? He’s the co-host of Magnolia Network’s Bargain Mansions with his daughter, Tamara Day. And we’re overjoyed to share the finished product with you.
So let’s get started with the outdoor kitchen tour! One of the things Ward loves most about his island is the convenience. Once he’s outside… He never needs to go back inside for supplies! Everything he needs is readily available. And looking at the island itself… You’ll notice that lovely black plank finish! (And light gray granite countertops!)
There was an intentional purpose to the color choice. Ward thought that the dark color complimented the aesthetics of his home perfectly. We would have to agree! Another aspect of this outdoor kitchen tour is the island layout.
Ward opted for a U-shape grill island. Again, there’s a reason for this! Having a U-shaped island allows plenty of space for multiple cooks in the kitchen. Ward could be grilling… Someone could be prepping cocktails… And yet another person could be getting a lobster boil ready! And even with three people working at the same time… No one will be cramped!
