Outdoor Kitchen Countertops | A Look Behind the “Seams”

If you want a super long outdoor kitchen… You’re going to have to put two islands together. That means your outdoor kitchen countertops are going to have a seam. One of the most common questions we receive is… “What is the seam going to look like?”

Many homeowners are worried that the seam is going to look like a giant crevasse! Thankfully… That couldn’t be further from the truth. RTA outdoor kitchen countertops do not have giant seams. But don’t just take our word for it. See it for yourself in the video!

You may also be wondering how you maintain a countertop seam. Honestly… It couldn’t be easier. Other than the initial setup… There’s no specific maintenance required. As James will explain in the video… You’ll just have to seal the seam. And you’re done. No maintenance necessary.

With concrete outdoor kitchen countertops… There is a little maintenance required. Every few years… You have to re-seal your countertop. This is done with a food safe sealer. Another question you may wonder is…

Are concrete countertops easy to clean?

They are! Concrete countertops are porous… So just be aware that they will absorb liquid efficiently. It doesn’t take any more than a food safe cleaner and paper towel to keep your countertops clean. Overall… Concrete is a great material to use for outdoor kitchen countertops. There’s a reason we use it for all our standard islands. It’s easy to maintain… Simple to clean… And durable in all climates.
