What do Most RTA Outdoor Kitchens Cost?

Instead of giving you a broad vague answer, we pulled some data from our sales team. Currently, the average order value for an RTA outdoor kitchen hovers around $19,000.

For a ballpark estimate, you can expect to pay $1,500 per linear foot for everything (panels, countertops, and appliances).

Panel & Countertop Cost

rta panel and countertop cost

At RTA Outdoor Living, the panels and countertops are priced together. The two together will run you about $1,000 per linear foot.

For example, a 7’ linear island structure (without taking appliances into account) will cost $6,995.00.

Now, this $1,000 per linear foot pricing assumes you will be getting a standard finish with chiseled edge countertops. Some countertop options and finish selections come with an additional charge.

  • Granite or Clean Edge Countertops: An additional $150 per linear foot
  • Slat or Plank Charcoal Finish: An additional $100 per linear foot

With the above 7’ linear island example, you can expect to pay about $1,000 extra for either of these selections.

Appliance Cost

5 Factors that Impact the Cost of an RTA Outdoor Kitchen

While the above estimates and price breakdowns are a helpful starting point… to fully contextualize RTA outdoor kitchen cost, you need to know the other factors at play.

1. Materials Used

rta outdoor kitchen materials

The materials used in an RTA outdoor kitchen is the greatest contributing factor to cost. We use ultra-high-performance concrete reinforced with microfibers, which costs significantly more than standard concrete. Many other outdoor kitchen companies will use aluminum or steel frames and cement board, which are far cheaper to obtain than ultra-high-performance concrete.

And while this type of concrete comes with a hefty price tag… that means you can enjoy optimal longevity and durability with your outdoor kitchen! Ultra-high-performance concrete is non-combustible, impervious to pests and mold, and is hardy in all weather conditions (snow, ice, high winds, salty ocean air).

2. Customization Options

As we mentioned earlier, some finish and countertop options come with an additional upcharge.

In case you missed it:

  • Granite or Clean Edge Countertops: An additional $150 per linear foot
  • Slat or Plank Charcoal Finish: An additional $100 per linear foot

3. Finish & Countertop Selection

A common misconception is that RTA charges a flat fee for any customization. Although we do not charge extra for all customization… there are a couple specific customization fees to keep in mind:

  • Outlets & Junction Box Cutout: $75 (applies if you want electrical outlets in your outdoor kitchen or electricity run for appliances like a refrigerator)
  • Umbrella Holes: $75 (applies if you want to be able to put an umbrella into your island for shade)
  • Custom Cutouts for Off-Brand Appliances: Varies depending on your specific situation

Also keep in mind that all RTA outdoor kitchens are made-to-order, and most designs are never made a second time. The additional time and attention involved in building a bespoke outdoor kitchen does impact the ultimate cost.

4. Discounts & Sales Tax

discounts and sales tax

Potential discounts and sales tax can also balance/counterbalance the scale of RTA outdoor kitchen cost.

Oftentimes, we have some sort of promotion running to help you save money on your outdoor kitchen. Depending on what’s offered at the time you inquire about your project… you can shave $1,000+ off the final total.

On the other hand, there are off-setting fees that can cut into your savings… sales tax being the primary fee. Other fees may apply depending on your locale and particulars of your project.

5. Inflation, Tariffs, & More

outdoor kitchen inflation

Lastly, current events can affect the price of your RTA outdoor grill island. Inflation may necessitate price increases, tariffs can force price increases on appliances… and new appliance releases or finish options may incur an additional cost as well.

In 2025, both tariffs and a new Coyote product line impacted our appliance prices. Tariffs on steel and an unveiling of a complete overhaul on Coyote products caused a fairly substantial increase on appliance prices this year.
